Senior Social Worker- BHIP Therapist
The VA Manchester Healthcare System is seeking a Senior Social Worker for the Mental Health Service line. The role involves providing direct mental health services and comprehensive therapeutic support to Veterans and their families, while also managing case management and community referrals.

Responsibilities
Provide direct mental health services to treat highly complex mental health problems which require expert level psychological clinical interventions for a diverse group of Veterans and their families
Work on teams which provide services 5 days a week at the Manchester VA
Responsible for case management, community referrals, connections, and additional tasks assigned to promote Veteran mental and physical well-being
Utilize Behavioral Health Laboratory (BHL) case management software and provide care management services and coordination with other clinical teams as needed
Independently manage the mental health care needs of patients presenting with highly complex problems
Provide comprehensive therapeutic services, consultation with peers and others of various disciplines regarding the treatment of MH issues, colleagues, and supervisors as appropriate
Have advanced experience in the diagnosis of mental disorders, treatment of mental disorders through a variety of modalities, utilizing measurement based care and evidence based practices and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders
Provide individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapies and other interventions such as behavioral health and community interventions
Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues, with particular expertise in the management of mental health conditions
Participate in program evaluation, teaching, training, and research activities
Provide clinical consultation and guidance to colleagues, role model effective social work practice skills, teach or provide orientation to less experienced social workers, develop innovations in practice interventions, or have records of completion in evidence-based psychotherapies for treatment of mental health disorders, and participate in providing clinical supervision in some capacity for social workers pursuing licensure or social work trainees

A current, unrestricted license to practice independently as a Social Worker at the advanced level

Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level
The candidate must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure
Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level
Skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities used in specialty treatment programs or with special patient populations
Ability to incorporate complex multiple causation in differential diagnosis and treatment within approved clinical privileges or scope of practice
Knowledge in developing and implementing methods for measuring effectiveness of social work practice and services in the specialty area
Ability to provide specialized consultation to colleagues and students on the psychosocial treatment of patients in the service delivery area
Ability to expand clinical knowledge in the social work profession, and to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines pertaining to the service delivery area
