ENGIE North America Inc. is leading the Zero-Carbon Transition and is seeking a Senior Trader to oversee Renewable Energy Certificate trading activities. This role involves market-making, risk management, and strategic optimization of REC portfolios to align with ENGIE's zero-carbon objectives.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary dedicated market maker in voluntary and compliance REC markets for internal and external customers, particularly supporting the Supply business
Ability to make competitive REC markets and provide market access to affiliate companies
Ensure all transactions are accurate, transparent, and compliant with ENGIE best practices
Manage risk of EEMNA REC positions across all relevant markets
Identify optimization opportunities within the REC portfolio/inventory and broader market
Provide insights and analysis into REC market fundamentals to inform trading strategies
Originate REC Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and collaborate with Origination and Power desks on structuring PPAs
Work effectively with back-office teams to streamline processes and implement improvements
Execute trades in compliance with Credit and Legal requirements
Provide regulatory insights on impacts to compliance and voluntary markets
Ensure adherence to all regulatory and product compliance requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in which you completed courses in business, economics, STEM or any related disciplines
Minimum of 7 years of REC trading or relevant experience (e.g., carbon credits, renewable fuels)
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Clear and effective communicator with ability to engage in dialogue and debate with senior stakeholders
Ability to work autonomously and lead cross-functional teams
Proficiency in trading and ETRM systems and advanced Excel
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analyses and defend recommendations to senior stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional projects and stakeholder engagement
Analytical profile, ability to provide precise and solid insights, identify causes and conditions, structure action plans, and propose and defend those to the leadership
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy and limited oversight
Team player comfortable operating in matrixed structure and managing stakeholder expectations
Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to develop cogent reasoning to defend analyses and perspectives
