Mid LevelHRize LLC is seeking a Backup and Legal Hold Platform Engineer to support and enhance enterprise-wide data protection, backup, and legal hold services. This role focuses on operating and improving the Commvault backup platform and ensuring reliable, scalable backup services across cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities
Support enterprise backup and recovery services using Commvault across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments
Configure, manage, and maintain backup policies, retention schedules, and recovery workflows
Support Microsoft 365 legal hold and eDiscovery processes for Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
Participate in an on-call rotation to support backup incidents, restores, and service requests
Troubleshoot and resolve backup and recovery issues in collaboration with internal teams and vendor support
Support backup infrastructure deployed across multi-region and hybrid environments
Work with core AWS and Azure services, including networking, storage, identity, and security
Assist with platform upgrades, patching, maintenance activities, and infrastructure changes
Build familiarity with cloud-native backup and recovery capabilities that support enterprise requirements
Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks and improve platform reliability
Contribute to scripting and tooling used to support backup operations
Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
Help enhance monitoring, reporting, onboarding, and operational processes for backup services
Monitor backup job health, capacity utilization, and service performance
Participate in recovery testing, audit readiness, and compliance activities
Follow established operational best practices and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives
Qualification
Required
Experience supporting enterprise backup and recovery platforms (Commvault preferred)
Exposure to Microsoft 365 backup, legal hold, or eDiscovery workflows
Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud fundamentals
Experience supporting production systems and participating in on-call rotations
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on documentation
Preferred
Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or similar languages
Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
Experience with object storage, encryption, and data immutability concepts
Exposure to hybrid and multi-region cloud environments
