DIRECTOR OF RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
Atlantis Community Inc. has been advocating for people with disabilities for 49 years. The Director of Resource Development is responsible for leading the financial growth and sustainability efforts of the Center for Independent Living, focusing on managing and expanding the grant portfolio and collaborating on fundraising activities.
Individual and Family Services
Responsibilities
Create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan (individual giving, major donors, corporate engagement, grants, special events)
Lead annual and ongoing revenue forecasting and fundraising goal-setting, aligned with the five-year strategic plan
Develop and implement strategies for new revenue streams (planned giving, endowments, capital campaigns)
Co-develop and implement annual and multi-year fundraising plans
Identify, apply for, and manage public and private grants
Monitor grant compliance and ensure timely reporting to funders
Track compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Create and manage reports related to funding requirements, program performance, and resource impact
Lead individual giving campaigns, major gift solicitations, and special events
Identify and secure corporate sponsorships and partnerships aligned with ACI’s mission
Develop tailored sponsorship packages and manage ongoing donor, corporate, and foundation relationships
Oversee corporate giving programs (matching gifts, workplace giving, national/regional campaigns)
Use data to strengthen and expand external stakeholder relationships
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Finance team to align development goals with financial objectives
Monitor and analyze fundraising performance; recommend and implement strategy adjustments as needed
Provide insights and recommendations that support sustainability and future growth
Complete reporting requirements for all grants, fundraising, and donations in a timely manner
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of fundraising best practices, donor cultivation, and corporate engagement strategies
Proficiency in funding compliance regulations at federal, state, and local levels
Data-driven mindset with ability to use reports, metrics, and analytics to inform strategy
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to write persuasively for grants, donors, and stakeholders
Strong organizational skills, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
Ability to build and maintain positive, mission-aligned relationships with donors, funders, corporations, and community partners
High ethical standards and commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessibility in fundraising practices
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support fundraising campaigns, events, or donor engagement
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communication, public administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, resource development, or advancement
Demonstrated success in grant writing, compliance, and reporting (federal, state, local, and private)
Proven track record of securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and individual donor contributions
Experience in developing and executing multi-year fundraising strategies, including planned giving, endowments, or capital campaigns
Prior experience collaborating with executive leadership, boards, and finance teams on strategic planning and revenue alignment
Commitment to the mission and values of Atlantis Community, Inc. and the disabled community
Preferred
Experience leading capital campaigns, endowment initiatives, or large-scale planned giving programs
Familiarity with federal and state funding streams related to Centers for Independent Living (CILs) or disability advocacy organizations
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with boards of directors and fundraising committees
Advanced proficiency in donor relationship management (CRM) platforms and data analytics for fundraising performance
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/ASL) is strongly preferred
Lived experience with disability or direct work experience in the independent living movement
