The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure maximum uptime of specialized vehicle modeling equipment through preventive maintenance and vendor management.

Responsibilities

Execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment including milling machines, water jet systems, air compressors, foam cutting machines, and paint booths
Develop maintenance schedules, perform routine inspections, and conduct equipment performance assessments
Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate equipment history records
Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime
Assess equipment failures, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate repair strategies
Establish relationships with vendors and service providers, negotiate service agreements, and coordinate facility access
Manage inventory of critical spare parts and place immediate orders for replacement parts
Coordinate with purchasing and vendors to expedite delivery while maintaining optimal inventory levels
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce costs, and optimize production efficiency
Generate regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and reliability metrics

Required

3-5 years' experience in manufacturing environment with hands-on equipment maintenance responsibilities
Experience with CNC machining, water jet cutting, compressed air systems, and industrial painting equipment
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems experience
Proficiency reading technical drawings, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics
Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and OSHA safety requirements
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure during emergencies
Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor interactions
Ability to prioritize multiple activities and manage time effectively
Physical capability for hands-on maintenance work including lifting, climbing, and industrial environments

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
Professional certification in maintenance management or reliability engineering
OSHA safety certifications and specialized equipment training
Understanding of vehicle modeling and prototyping processes
Experience with 5-axis milling machines, abrasive water jet systems, foam cutting technologies, and automotive paint systems
Knowledge of quality control requirements for precision manufacturing operations
Experience with CMMS systems and predictive maintenance technologies
Background in vendor management and lean manufacturing principles
