Postdoctoral Fellow - Biomedical Engineering

Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Fellow will continue investigation of cancer nerve crosstalk in both breast cancer and pancreatic cancer
In both projects, the postdoctoral fellow will use tissue engineered models of the tumor microenvironment, conduct molecular assays and perform multiphoton optical redox imaging to probe metabolic status of cells real time
This person will also supervise current graduate students working on breast tumor innervation, given she has also gained experience in this area during his/her PhD tenure
In addition, this individual will learn to write federal and foundational research grant proposals and continue to hone her skills in supervising graduate and undergraduate students and developing multidisciplinary collaborations
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others
Qualification
Required
PhD in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment
Previous work with cancer nerve crosstalk and tissue engineered models of tumor microenvironments
Experience conducting molecular assays and performing multiple optical redox imaging
Laboratory fluency with a strong understanding of policies, procedures, and safety protocols
