HCSS Media Specialist
The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking an HCSS Media Specialist to oversee the operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment and systems. The role involves providing technical support, mentoring, and training to staff, as well as ensuring the successful execution of multimedia events.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance and mentoring in the professional development of individuals
Provides team support regarding technical expertise, problem resolution/troubleshooting, training, coaching, and team facilitation
Provides leadership and training to Audio-Visual Technicians and Senior Audio-Visual Technicians in the installation and repair of audio visual equipment
Assists in the development of policies and procedures
Instructs customers on the proper use of equipment
Ensures the delivery and set up audio visual equipment for programs and lectures including the regulation of lights and sound for proper presentation
Installs and repairs cable and satellite system, jacks and other necessary equipment and software in auditoriums/classrooms
Designs/installs security systems
Provides estimates for design/install and repair of audio-visual systems
Trouble shoots and provides minor repairs to audio visual and related equipment
Oversees the planning/design/installation of audio-visual and systems and special effects lighting set-ups
Oversees the operation of complex events and the maintenance of special facilities
Operates cable TV and satellite system
Provides video editing and shooting as needed
Supports Information Services with teleconference events/services
Negotiates equipment prices for audio visual pool and auditoriums
Maintains inventory of supplies
Assists in the evaluation of hardware and software products
Stays current with applicable UTMB, State and Federal rules and regulations
Serves as a consultant to faculty and administration in the application of Educational Technology
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
Performs related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or equivalent in digital media or related field and two years related experience
Provides guidance and mentoring in the professional development of individuals
