They are seeking a Postbaccalaureate Research Scholar for hands-on experience in the Rankin Lab, where scholars will engage in experimental design, lab techniques, and data analysis under close mentorship.
Responsibilities
Learning to use molecular genetics techniques, cell free extracts, live-cell imaging, and protein purification in research experiments
Conducting experiments with guidance from a senior scientist to explore chromosome dynamics
Maintenance of detailed digital records
Preparation and maintenance of laboratory stocks, including media, solutions, and reagents
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree in biological sciences, physics, chemistry, or related area
Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for working as part of a supportive, collaborative team
Eagerness to learn new techniques and the ability to work independently once trained
Willingness to work with live animals (frogs)
