ARDT Clinical Research Practitioner/Officer

They are seeking a motivated ARDT Clinical Research Practitioner/Officer to join their Agile Research Delivery Team, responsible for delivering NIHR portfolio-adopted research studies across various health and social care settings.

Responsibilities

Support all aspects of study delivery from set-up through to correct identification (screening), recruitment and on to follow-up and closedown across all specialties and settings in the NENC region
Delivery of research must be in accordance to the relevant research protocols; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Working flexibly and providing agility to meet the needs of the service – this will be for a variety of studies according to demand
Working as a member of the ARDT to provide participant centered care in a variety of locations in line with trust policy, procedure and guidelines and in line with study protocols and governance requirements
Work autonomously to manage own workload
CRP will perform and record a range of participant assessments and physiological measurements required, according to personal competencies and the study requirements. This may include, (but not be limited to); venepuncture, blood pressure, urinalysis, weight and height
Appropriately document and report any serious adverse events and incidents and escalate any adverse events or issues appropriately to senior team members of the ARDT if required
Ensure accurate data collection and maintenance of all research records and results in line with local SOPs and study protocols
Assist with audit/monitoring and inspection visits
Identify potential and actual barriers to participant recruitment, raise awareness of this with Senior Agile Research Delivery team
Develop relationships with staff and individuals at different sites and settings in the Northeast to ensure people from varied populations can be offered opportunities to take part in research

Required

Educated to degree level in science or health related discipline or in another field with experience of delivering clinical research trials or equivalent experience/training
CRPs should be on, or working towards accredited registration with the AHCS
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Knowledge of the governance and legislative framework for conducting clinical research studies, including ICH Good Clinical Practice
Knowledge of the clinical trial and health and care research lifecycle including experience of the set up and delivery of research studies in a health and care setting
Experience of the care of patients/participants enrolled in research studies or a customer focussed role
Knowledge and experience of data systems, data entry, data interpretation, verification and reporting to local and national centres
Good IT skills, particularly in the use of Web applications, MS Office and/or Google Hub applications
Good planning and organisational skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to plan and coordinate multidisciplinary activities associated with the management and delivery of research study(ies)
Understanding of personal accountability
Ability to travel for work
