Bookkeeper

Morrissey and Associates is dedicated to providing expert accounting and tax advisory services. They are currently seeking an experienced and meticulous Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day financial operations, manage financial transactions, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Accounting

Responsibilities

Accurately record daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online, including tracking revenue streams, expenses, purchases, and payments
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of vendor invoices and client payments
Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and multiple credit cards to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data
Act as a liaison with the firm’s CPA and coordinate activities for the year-end financial close
Process annual 1099 forms for both federal and state tax requirements
Prepare and generate weekly financial reports as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows
Pay monthly bills and issue checks as necessary to vendors and service providers
Review monthly invoices, accounts payable, and credit card statements for accuracy and completeness
Prepare and process sales tax returns
Prepare payroll tax forms and payroll calculations
Respond to client inquiries regarding trip costs and invoices

Required

5-7 years of bookkeeping experience
Experience in General Accounting concepts
Experience with Windows-based accounting programs
Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, etc
Must have a high level of attention to detail
Ability to multitask and handle sensitive, confidential information
Ability to work with minimal direction
Excellent communication skills
College degree and/or equivalent work experience
Must be able to commute to either our Forked River, NJ or Chatham, NJ office
