Responsibilities

Provides technical knowledge in the design and development of high-volume, low-power embedded electronics and electromechanical systems
Contributes to the development of new theories, methods, and intellectual property; employs extensive expertise as a generalist or specialist
Develops and reviews complex schematics and PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with design standards
Perform testing and troubleshooting of electronic circuits, resolving EMI/EMC issues
Lead the implementation of design controls, including risk management (DFMEA), requirements, and test plans
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume production
Mentor junior engineers in best practices including design for manufacture and design for test of a high-volume product
Contributes to deploying and improving Insulet's application of relevant engineering tools
Creates and meets schedules for complex projects with cross-functional dependencies
Defines requirements for electronic systems, subsystems and components
Performs other duties as required

Required

Strong foundation in engineering principals and problem solving
Advanced circuit analysis, including simulation capabilities
Proficiency in CAD software tools schematics and layout (OrCAD, or Altium preferred)
Proficiency developing test protocols and test report generation
Principles of design (Power, High Speed Signaling, Noise Immunity)
Advanced root cause analysis techniques
Experience and knowledge of Electrical / Systems Requirements definition
Experience and knowledge Risk analysis and FMEAs definition
Experience in Design for manufacturability / testability
Experience and knowledge of Test equipment operation (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Signal Generators)
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
Some knowledge in other relevant engineering tools (MathCAD, Matlab, LabView)
Advanced knowledge of test equipment specification (specialized probing techniques, capabilities, understanding of esoteric parameters)
Experience and knowledge on how to run engineering experiments in a lab environment
Experience in Design for Manufacturability / testability
Experience with Test equipment operation (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Signal Generators)
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Advanced knowledge of other relevant engineering tools (MathCAD, Matlab, LabView)
Expertise in low-power embedded systems and electromechanical components Bluetooth Low Energy design and test techniques preferred
Experience with test protocol and report development, including knowledge of how to run engineering experiments in a lab environment
Highly ethical, responsible, and independent; demonstrates acceptance of responsibility and shows pride in work performed
Self-starter, detail oriented, and effective verbal/written communicator
Demonstrates flexibility in acceptance of assignments and schedules
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD and 1+ years of relevant experience

Preferred

Expertise in low-power embedded systems and electromechanical components Bluetooth Low Energy design and test techniques preferred
