Responsibilities

Prepare growing medium, planting, transplanting, watering and measuring plant growth parameters in the greenhouse, or prep-room
Prepare glassware, reagents, samples, and extracts for analysis in associated soil and plant laboratories
Document work in an organized fashion and label all associated experimental materials using standard laboratory methods
Contribute to a weekly planning meeting as assigned by Senior Manager
Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for gathering soil and plant data
Prepare, measure, and apply treatments of different agricultural products to experimental plant plots
Operate analytical equipment for measuring soil and plant growth parameters
Record and summarize experimental data when requested
Drive innovative solutions
Maintain a clean work area and assume responsibility for assigned maintenance and safety activities in our lab
Maintain exemplary laboratories in terms of safety and compliance and follow all personal protective equipment requirements
Act as a leader and example for the company’s Behavioral Standards, which focus on Safety, Integrity, Inclusion, Performance, Community, and Innovation
Utilize and leverage available digital technologies to complete work accurately and efficiently

Required

Associates degree is required, preferably in the agricultural, plant or soil sciences
1+ years of experience working in an analytical, soil or plant laboratory, university or research lab
Self-motivation, assertiveness, initiative, and results orientation
Good math and analytical skills
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail and the ability to follow precise scientific instructions as detailed in SOP's

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of education
