Deputy Accounting Director for Operations Support and Oversight

The Deputy Accounting Director for Operations Support and Oversight is responsible for providing senior-level managerial leadership to various accounting teams, overseeing business plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating audit activities.

Responsibilities
Provides vision, leadership, strategic direction and guidance in an array of highly advanced and complex accounting functions, including but not limited to vendor management, warrant distribution, post payment oversight, department performance reporting and automated system operations
Plans, develops and documents the department's Annual Business Plan, in collaboration with other department areas. Directs, monitors and reports on department operational improvement initiatives and Accounting CFO Business Plan performance measures
Plans, develops, evaluates and implements accounting policies for Operations Support and Oversight in accordance with GAAP/GASB and applicable state and federal rules, regulations and agency policies
Directs the completion of all agency Operation Support and Oversight functions pursuant to requirements developed by the Legislature, the Comptroller of Public Accounts and regulations defined by the agency's federal partners
Facilitates the department Federal and State audit activities and serves as the Accounting Audit Coordinator
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or the U.S. equivalency with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration/management or a related field plus five (5) years progressively responsible experience in accounting related work
Must have at least five (5) years of demonstrated and progressively responsible managerial experience
Graduate level education in above baccalaureate degree fields may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis
Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent
Substitution Note: Additional work experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
Preferred
Accounting experience in State Government
Experience In USAS, CAPPS-Financial Or PeopleSoft
Experience utilizing and managing SharePoint sites
Experience As a Project Manager
