Responsibilities

Understanding our organization, industry, clients, and professional experience by working with our consulting group
Gaining exposure to how data-driven insights inform decisions for developers, homebuilders, and Private Equity through hands-on work with economic, demographic, and housing data
Collaborating with multiple groups within JBREC to learn how market analysis, forecasting, and strategic insights come together to support client engagements
Working with several proprietary and external databases that track housing markets, construction trends, and economic conditions
Conducting targeted research on topics like migration, affordability, construction, and remodeling activity to support ongoing project work
Gaining exposure to projects across multiple real estate asset classes, including single-family, multifamily, and other developments
Analyzing market trends in building products such as windows, siding, HVAC, or plumbing fixtures
Supporting research on material substitution trends, channel strategy, and share of wallet analysis for building product manufacturers, distributors, and PE investors

Required

Proficiency in Excel
Strong writing to convey analysis clearly and concisely
Curiosity and desire to work in the housing industry, focusing on data analysis, data visualization, and macroeconomic research

Preferred

Cumulative GPA: 3.3
Major GPA: 3.3
Rising Juniors and Seniors (Graduating Spring 2027 – Spring 2028)
Preferred Fields of study: Economics, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques, such as Tableau, is a plus
Python and R are preferred (not required) skills
Some familiarity with publicly available/government data sources is a preferred (not required) skill
