The State of Oklahoma is seeking a detail-oriented Internal Auditor I to join the Audit & Compliance team at the Office of the State Treasurer. This role involves supporting compliance with Unclaimed Property policies and regulations, conducting audits, and developing internal controls to ensure effective operations.

Responsibilities

Performs audit procedures to verify that controls are in place and operating effectively through testing and interviewing techniques
Provide analyses and conclusions on the effectiveness & efficiency of internal controls
Identify control and compliance gaps and develop recommendations for opportunities of improvement to the UP program
Assist in risk analysis and reporting to ensure efficient and effective operations
Conduct data extraction and analytics to support UP program audits and reporting
Perform duties to support the UP program during safe deposit auctions and inventory
Daily use of UP program claims software to support analyses, auditing, and compliance
Prepare timely summaries and observations
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity
Other duties as assigned

Required

Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a closely related field

Preferred

Experience in the public finance sector or state government is preferred
Preference will be given to applicants who possess certifications or qualifications that demonstrate expertise in this career field
Applicants who have attained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or other related certification designation will be given significant preference
Applicants with data analytics, Jasper, Java code, and PeopleSoft experience will be given additional consideration and are preferred
Applicants with knowledge and/or exposure to mineral deeds, probates, tax documents, and other related legal instruments will be given higher consideration for interview and selection
