Controller
FoundersCard is seeking a hands-on Controller to own and scale their financial operations as the company grows. The role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, improving processes, and providing financial insights to support growth and decision-making.
Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including preparation of monthly reconciliations and financial statements
Maintain clean, audit-ready financial records as the company scales
Design, implement, and continuously improve AR and AP processes to support growth and efficiency
Establish internal controls and perform internal audits of revenue and expenses
Identify opportunities to automate or streamline financial workflows
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in a fast-changing environment
Monitor spending and perform variance analysis, translating results into actionable insights for leadership
Partner with teams to improve expense management and financial discipline
Administer the company’s 401(k) plan and coordinate with external providers
Manage healthcare benefits and serve as the primary point of contact for employees and vendors
Oversee insurance policies and ensure ongoing compliance as the company grows
Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Experience with benefits administration, including healthcare and 401(k) plans
Familiarity with internal controls and process design
Preferred
CPA preferred but not required
