Property Accountant

Greenmont Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property Accountant to support their growing real estate portfolio. The role involves property accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities along with providing administrative support to the Managing Partners in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate books and records for residential and commercial real estate properties and related entities
Record, classify, and reconcile income and expenses (rent, CAM, utilities, repairs, taxes, insurance, etc.)
Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual year end close and prepare property-level financial statements
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Manage accounts payable and receivable, process vendor payments
Track rent rolls, tenant billings, and security deposits
Assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and variance analysis
Coordinate with property managers, vendors, and external accountants
Support year-end close and provide documentation for tax preparation
Prepare and process 1099's at year end for vendors
Manage lease administration for tenants across multiple asset classes
Provide direct administrative support to the Managing Partners on a day-to-day basis

Qualification

Required

3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate bookkeeping
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple processes, tasks and priorities at once
Strong understanding of property-level accounting concepts (NOI, CAM, accruals, reserves)
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, AppFolio, Buildium, or similar)
Highly organized, process-oriented, and able to work independently
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mostly in-office environment
High level of discretion and professionalism
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

CPA or CPA Track not required
