Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities

Handle some of Argonne’s most complex and sensitive acquisitions, requiring an in-depth knowledge of contracting rules, regulations and procedures
Performs a full range of pre- and post-award acquisition activities. Works jointly with a multitude of personnel (e.g., program, finance, budget, legal)
Develops procurement objectives, schedules procurement activities to ensure timely contract award, determines types of contracts, and determines any special regulatory or statutory requirements that are applicable to the acquisition
Coordinates and controls contract administration activities, interprets contract provisions, ensures consistency in contract administration, or on needs for contract modifications, including contract termination and close-out
Work with other team members to complete duties as needed

Required

Bachelor's and 2+ years of experience or a Masters and 0+ years of experience, or equivalent
Knowledge of the characteristics of software licensing and IT hardware products and services being procured
Ability to complete price and cost analysis
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Effective written and oral communication and negotiation skills
Good analytical and strategic thinking skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Coordinates and controls contract administration activities, interprets contract provisions, ensures consistency in contract administration, or on needs for contract modifications, including contract termination and close-out
Work with other team members to complete duties as needed
