Total Health Care, Inc. is a healthcare provider seeking a Patient Access Specialist (PAS) to confirm patient demographic and insurance information for accurate billing. The PAS will enter information into the Electronic Medical Record systems and assist patients in need of financial assistance while managing communication between providers and patients.

Responsibilities

Confirming patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate billing for services provided by Total Health Care (THC)

Entering all necessary information into Total Health Care's (THC) Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for all departments (i.e., dental, medical, mental health or substance abuse)

Identifying patients in need of financial assistance and assisting them per THC policies and procedures

Serving as a resource for patients in our care

Managing the communication between Provider and Patient if needed, to translate feedback from patients in order to enhance the quality of services in the center

Required

High School diploma or equivalent (post High School education preferred) and/or any combination of education, training and experience providing understanding of the field and the ability to perform the essential functions of the job

Two years hospital or physician practice patient registration, customer service, insurance verification, financial clearance, or billing and ICD-9 medical coding experience in a healthcare environment

Certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate CHAA (NAHAM)

Proof of first dose or single dose of COVID-19 vaccination
