InternKey Capture Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HSE Intern to support their Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives within the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) industry. This role offers hands-on experience in developing and implementing safety programs, environmental compliance, and risk management practices in a rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities
Assist in developing and maintaining HSE documentation, including emergency planning and environmental compliance
Provide support and expertise in developing HSE Dashboarding for active BESS facilities. Initial focus will be in Hazardous Energy Control, Fire Suppression Systems and Spill Prevention
Support incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up
Participate in site safety audits and inspections identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions
Develop training materials and safety awareness campaigns for employees and contractors
Assist in data collection and analysis for environmental performance metrics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and sustainability
All other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus
Strong interest in renewable energy and battery storage technologies
Proficient in Adobe Acrobat based document editing
Basic understanding of HSE principles, regulations, and best practices
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred
Knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and risk assessment methodologies
Familiarity with energy storage systems or renewable energy projects
Experience with safety management systems or auditing processes
Pursuing a degree in Renewable Energy, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field
