Responsibilities

Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Route calls appropriately, offering voicemail or redirection of calls as needed
Review patient records to determine the necessity of pre-authorization for services
Communicate with healthcare providers to gather required documentation as needed
Follow up on pending requests to ensure timely approvals
Educate patients about their insurance benefits and pre-certification process
Complete obstetrical intake and schedule all new ob appointments
Explain financial requirements to patients; collect and record copays as required
Obtaining precertification's from insurance for testing and procedures
Perform registration functions for new and existing patients
Schedule patient appointments per guidelines given
Maintain confidentiality regarding all patients
Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies through HIPAA compliance
Other duties as assigned

Can work 40 hours per week
Can work between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 9 p.m. as needed
