Responsibilities

Transfers information from Engineering prints to programming language of Trumpf (Boost), BLM (Lantek), Mazak (PEP) flatbed lasers

Create 3D bend programs in Trumpf Boost for Trumpf press brakes

Coordinates work with operators before and after programming in the process chain

Work with scheduling to prioritize jobs to meet production schedule

Verify the proper revision level is being produced. When revision changes are made to prints the programmer must make sure old revision levels have been removed from the memory of all lasers

Look for and implement changes to increase output and reduce waste

Work on ECN tools to produce new parts through bend and flatbed software

Program parts in a responsible way to eliminate tip-ups and head collisions

Send laser-cut programs to Laser Cutter

May need to set up and operate Lasers to produce parts to specification

Dimensions and inspects parts for quality and fit with print

Works closely with all engineering groups and quality to produce prototypes, quality checking fixture parts, welding, paint, and assembly fixture parts

Observes the regulations regarding environmental protection, work safety, and efficiency

Required

Able to read prints

Must be fluent in shop math

Must have ability to use common measuring tools and able to measure parts to tolerances of thousandths of an inch

Must be a team player

Must be a self-starter with initiative to take project from start to finish with minimal supervision

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common prints, CAD drawings

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers

Must maintain absolute confidentiality in all areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to: company designs, manufacturing processes, tooling, and other company trade secrets

Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions using calculator or PC

Ability to use common plant measurement tools

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables under strict manufacturing and product standards

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

High school diploma required

Required to complete additional training as required
