Court Attorney - Surrogate's Court
The New York State Unified Court System, Queens County Surrogate's Court is recruiting for two positions in the Court Attorney Series. These positions involve researching legal issues, advising judges, and drafting legal documents.

Responsibilities
Researching and analyzing legal questions and issues
Conferring with and advising judge on legal issues
Writing confidential legal memoranda and recommending decisions
Drafting confidential opinions, decisions, orders, and correspondence
Candidates must possess strong legal research and writing skills
Experience in Surrogate’s Court is preferred, but not required
Qualification
Required
Admission to the New York State Bar
Five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience for Associate Court Attorney
Two (2) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience for Senior Court Attorney
Graduation from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar within 18 months of appointment for Court Attorney
Strong legal research and writing skills
