Delta Scientific Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer of vehicle access control equipment. They are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to perform daily financial operations, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports while ensuring compliance and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

Oversee accounts payable/receivable, process invoices, manage bank reconciliations, and ensure timely payments
Prepare and analyze financial statements, performance reports, and variance analyses for management
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal policies, and regulations; assist with audits and tax filings
Analyze financial data, spot errors, suggest process improvements, and help with budgeting and forecasting
Guide and train junior accounting staff, acting as a liaison between them and management
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures for efficiency

Required

Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel

Preferred

Degree not required but strongly preferred, especially in Business, Accounting, Finance or 7-10 years of experience in Accounting
CPA is a plus but not required
Willingness to learn
Attention to detail
Ability to take initiative, self-starter
Strong organizational and administrative ability
Capable of multitasking
Multi-state sales tax experience
