This role involves managing project-level accounting and ongoing property and core accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle accounting for real estate development projects, including job cost tracking, cost allocations, and budget monitoring
Prepare and/or review lender and investor draw packages in compliance with loan and development agreements
Reconcile construction budgets, analyze variances, and support project teams with financial reporting
Support construction accounts payable workflows, including vendor setup, retainage tracking, and payment processing
Ensure accurate capitalization of development costs and assist with transitions to placed-in-service
Prepare and/or review capital calls, distributions, partner allocations, and equity schedules
Interpret lease agreements and ensure accurate rent, CAM, and recovery calculations
Prepare and/or review monthly property financial statements, operating reports, and account reconciliations
Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
Prepare and/or review compiled financial statements and supporting workpapers
Apply U.S. GAAP to real estate transactions and support audit processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong background in real estate and/or construction accounting
Experience supporting real estate development projects from construction through stabilization
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP as applied to real estate transactions
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred
Prior experience working for a real estate developer
Strong proficiency in RealPage (preferred)
Experience with Yardi, Entrada, MRI, QuickBooks, and/or Sage Intacct
