Responsibilities
Responsible for the execution/develop of manufacturing controls. Work will be performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment
Project implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff)
Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement
Staying abreast of new controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision) of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality parts
Managing deliveries to program timing milestones
Providing project report outs to senior management
Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers
Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology
Hardware and software controls engineer designer focusing on small automated cells within GM's manufacturing plant
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience or training
Controls experience in manufacturing environment
PLC experience with ladder logic, and schematics/hardware design - Logix5000 and ePlan
Knowledge of GM controls standards - GCCH, GCCS2, GCCB, etc
