LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking an HR Manager to join our client's organization in the Union, IL area. The HR Manager will oversee a full range of HR activities, ensure compliance with employment laws, and develop HR policies for multi-state operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage a full range of HR activities, including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and separation processes
Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations at the federal level as well as within both Illinois and Wisconsin
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee files, HRIS data, and related documentation
Develop, refine, and roll out HR policies and procedures that fit the needs of multi‑state manufacturing operations
Provide guidance to leaders on employee relations matters, corrective actions, and conflict resolution
Handle payroll processing, benefits support, and workers’ compensation‑related tasks
Coordinate workplace safety and training initiatives, meeting OSHA standards and state‑specific requirements
Draft, revise, and maintain employee handbook materials
Promote and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
Lead or support workplace investigations and address issues promptly and professionally

Required

Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
A minimum of five years of HR experience, ideally within manufacturing or industrial operations
Strong understanding of employment regulations in both Illinois and Wisconsin
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
Skilled in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications
Experience with Paycor or the ability to learn it quickly
Willingness to travel between locations in both states when needed

Preferred

HR certification such as PHR or SHRM‑CP
