Responsibilities

Prevent loss and control shrink by performing loss prevention activities and monitoring related company policies and programs throughout the store
Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals committing theft or other crimes against Albertsons at store level
Assist in other areas related to Loss Prevention as required by the Loss Prevention Manager
Provide a safe and secure store environment for customers, associates, and vendors
Monitor checkout area for consumer fraud, associate dishonesty, and compliance with cash handling and register policies
Follow up on front-end exception report transactions as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager
Observe customers throughout the store to monitor shrink control, safety, and customer service
Apprehend shoplifters in accordance with state/local laws and company policy
Cooperate with and respond to requests from police departments, courts, and other public agencies under Loss Prevention or Corporate Counsel direction
Monitor receiving area and conduct delivery audits to detect vendor fraud, associate dishonesty, and compliance with receiving policies
Assist management with loss prevention-related inspections
Respond to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms
Maintain equipment related to loss prevention and physical security (CCTV, EAS systems, intrusion alarms)
Conduct store inspections/audits to ensure compliance with shrink control and physical security policies; document violations and advise management and Loss Prevention Manager
Conduct internal and vendor investigations as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager
Perform other duties as assigned by the Loss Prevention Manager
Participate in the store’s Safety Committee
Report unsafe associate conduct to store management and Loss Prevention Manager
Report unsafe conditions and take immediate remedial action when imminent hazards exist
Report deficiencies in food safety standards and take immediate remedial action when freshness or quality standards are not met
Communicate with management on all loss prevention issues
Train associates on loss prevention programs or policies as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager
Develop trust, credibility, and rapport with store management and associates
Maintain good working relationships with local police, law enforcement agencies, and court personnel
Compile, submit, and communicate routine statistical data to the Division Loss Prevention office as required

Required

Must be at least 20 years of age
High school education or equivalent required; college degree preferred
Must pass a drug test
Subject to criminal background check; no felony convictions or convictions related to theft, violence, sexual misconduct, or other factors that could endanger Albertsons' reputation or assets
Ability to read, understand, and interpret signs, shelf labels, and date codes
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for compiling and reporting data
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to learn and apply company manuals, loss prevention policies, and practices
Ability to handle confrontational situations and respond quickly to incidents
Basic computer skills for email and report access
Night and weekend work required
