Part-Time Receptionist

BLAQUE KC is a grassroots education advocacy organization working to improve educational outcomes for Black students in Kansas City and beyond. They are seeking a highly skilled, professional, and welcoming Part-Time Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for the organization and maintain a polished office environment.

Philanthropy

Responsibilities

Greet visitors with professionalism and warmth
Answer, screen, and direct phone calls and inquiries
Manage front desk operations and ensure consistent office coverage
Receive and distribute mail and deliveries
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Assist with scheduling meetings, interviews, and convenings
Prepare meeting rooms, including setup of coffee, water, snacks, or catered food
Coordinate conference room calendars and availability
Provide basic support for in-room technology and virtual meetings
Reset and organize meeting spaces following use
Order and maintain office supplies and refreshments
Support light administrative tasks, data entry, and document organization
Communicate facility or operational needs to the Operations team
Provide on-site support during occasional meetings or events, including one Saturday per month

Required

Prior experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, or office coordinator
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer-service skills
High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Comfort using Google Workspace, calendars, email, and basic office technology
Alignment with BLAQUE KC's mission and values

Preferred

Experience working in nonprofit, education, advocacy, or community-based organizations
Experience supporting meetings with senior leaders, funders, or external partners
