Responsibilities
Lead quality planning activities including process development, equipment process monitoring and control, and sample and product metallurgical inspection for the batch carburizing/hardening operations
Work with maintenance, operations, and/or design engineering daily to communicate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to processes, equipment, or individual components
Innovate and implement process improvement ideas in support of cost reduction, quality, delivery, and safety initiatives
Implement heat treat processes for new components in support of new product development programs and develop routings, layouts, tools, costs, standards, and quality plans as required
Qualification
Required
1+ years of shop floor manufacturing engineering experience, or relevant college degree
6 months of experience with the heat treatment of ferrous metals, or relevant college degree
1+ years of strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills, or relevant college degree
6 months of experience of manufacturing processes, including furnace carburizing, hardening and tempering
6 months of experience in manufacturing process development and equipment/process troubleshooting
Preferred
1+ years communicating and collaborating well in a team environment
1+ years with a working knowledge of steelmaking and steel-forming processes
1+ years of experience with project management, planning and execution
1+ years with a working knowledge of engineering tools, systems, and databases (SAP, Microsoft Office)
6 months with a working knowledge of component part tolerancing, gaging, and blueprint reading
