VCU College of Health Professions is seeking to hire a research technician for the Sensorimotor Performance and Rehabilitation Engineering Lab. The role involves coordinating lab supplies, assisting with research and data management, and performing lab maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the production of custom lab supplies (training will be provided)

Assist with research: setup equipment for research, assist with data collection

Perform data management tasks: maintain subject database, video data processing, organize research data

Perform lab maintenance tasks: manage and respond to project-related correspondence, routine laboratory maintenance (such as organizing lab equipment, maintaining inventory of lab supplies), routine clerical and administrative duties as instructed, attend lab meetings

Required

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Occasional weekend hours required

Previous experience working in a research lab or similar setting

Comfortable with computers and analytical software (software used in the lab include but not limited to: Excel, MATLAB, Datavyu, SPSS)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team

Experience working with children and/or children with special needs

Dependable, reliable, organized, flexible, excited about learning new things

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an hourly employee at VCU
