Legal Intern
Southwire Company, LLC is one of North America’s largest wire and cable producers, seeking a Legal Intern to support the Ethics & Compliance Team. The intern will assist with investigations, drafting reports, and preparing training materials while gaining real-world experience in a corporate environment.

Responsibilities
Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work
You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves
You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and community service /volunteer initiatives
You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to a world-class program community
Finally, our rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities
Participate in investigations (initial intake, scoping, drafting interview questions, scheduling interviews, fact‑finding, etc.)
Draft investigation reports and executive summaries
Analyzing metrics from legal dashboards and creating visuals and trend reports, charts, etc. (data analytics)
Assist with following-up on open investigations to ensure timely closing of cases
Prepare Board and senior‑leadership materials (program slides, case summaries, trend analysis)
Developing investigations training materials (slides, scenarios, job aids, email blasts)
Assist with preparing for on-site ethics and compliance visits
Assist with drafting and updating company policies, playbooks/SOPs
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2.5 GPA
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Proven working experience in a team environment
Strong project management skills
Strong organization, planning, research and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications including Word, with a strong emphasis on Excel, and PowerPoint
Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
