Part-Time Maternal Health Registered Nurse
Cayaba Care is dedicated to improving maternal health outcomes for underserved communities. They are seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to serve as a clinical partner to expectant and new parents, bridging clinical care and community support, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address prenatal and postpartum concerns.

Responsibilities
Conduct telemedicine visits at key intervals during the prenatal and postpartum period to evaluate clinical needs and educate members as needed
Lead group classes on childbirth prep, bonding, and developmental milestones
Provide in-home assessments and education following an infant’s NICU discharge
Assess reports of urgent maternal warning signs or elevated blood pressure and guide members to appropriate care settings
Monitor blood pressure and EPDS scores; follow up on any values requiring clinical attention
Serve as a liaison between Cayaba Care and the member’s obstetrics provider and primary care provider, documenting visit summaries and ensuring timely escalation of clinical concerns
Help train Maternity Navigators (MNs) on prenatal and postpartum topics to ensure consistent, evidence-based education across the care team
Provide insights from your frontline experience to help shape Cayaba Care’s programs
Participate in care team huddles, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing between clinical staff and MNs on health education and community resources as needed
Qualification
Required
Active Registered Nurse licenses in Washington, D.C. and Maryland (DC, plus compact license preferred)
Based in the Baltimore or Washington, D.C. area with the ability to travel up to 50% for in-person visits across the Baltimore and D.C. metro areas
Minimum of 5 years of experience in prenatal and postpartum care in outpatient pediatrics, OB/GYN, maternal-fetal medicine, acute care, or a similar setting
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate, empathetic, and culturally-informed care
Highly organized and solutions-oriented, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Comfortable establishing strong relationships with patients virtually
Tech-savvy or able to quickly learn systems to document care and communicate with members (e.g., AthenaOne, Spruce, MacOS)
Preferred
BSN or MSN
Start-up experience
Proficiency in Spanish or Amharic
