They are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical documentation for their API and knowledge base, collaborating closely with product teams to ensure accuracy and clarity in communications.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain API and knowledge base content that meets industry standards, keeping pace with product development teams and adhering to style guidelines

Collaborate closely with product engineering, product management, integration teams, and other internal stakeholders to write API documentation and programming guides

Represent the Technical Content team in a positive light across the Apex organization, helping to enhance our reputation for excellence

Assume an active role as a leader for the team, supporting Tech Content management in things like sprint planning and work-balancing efforts, always ready to pitch in and lend a hand as needed to get the team across the finish line

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher (in English, technical communications, computer science, or a similar field)

7+ years of experience as a technical writer for a developer audience at a fast-paced software company

Proven experience writing detailed, user-centered API and programming documentation in a fast-paced software environment

Outstanding ability to grasp and communicate interrelationships between topics clearly and meaningfully and to present information in a logical hierarchy and in a consistent manner

Ability to handle and prioritize multiple focus areas and tasks

Enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration with people at all levels of an organization

Courage to advocate for yourself and for our user's needs, backing your opinions with experience and facts

A bias for action and a positive attitude with an innate and finely tuned attention to detail

Current knowledge of the evolving style of technical documentation and enablement resources for developer audiences

Ability to work in US time zones (ideally Central Standard Time)

Experience with Markdown or another markup language, GitHub, Jira, and Swagger

One or more programming languages (Java, Go, Python, Typescript)

A strong writing portfolio to demonstrate these skills
