Responsibilities

Communicate with patients, families and healthcare providers to gather required information for admission
Review and evaluate patient admission requests to ensure eligibility and appropriateness for admission
Documents patients personal and medical information in the system ensuring all necessary information is completed and approved prior to admission
Coordinate patient admissions with health care providers, insurance companies and other relevant parties
Verify insurance coverage and work with patients and families to resolve any issues related to insurance
Assist patients and families with any question or concerns related to the admissions process
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Computer proficiency required
Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills working with various populations required
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes

Preferred

Associate's degree in healthcare administration preferred
Associate's degree in business administration preferred
Hospital admissions/healthcare admissions/Patient registration/Patient scheduling/Patient referrals experience 0-1 year preferred
