Responsibilities
Perform accurate take-offs to determine our materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, or other costs required to complete the project
Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects based on specifications, drawings, and site visits
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure cost efficiency
Provide additional pricing and roof system options based on the client’s needs or goals
Oversee roofing projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
Attend pre-construction meetings and coordinate any potential roadblocks with the clients to ensure seamless installation
Coordinate schedules with our superintendents and clients
Create and submit a schedule of values, bonds, COI, and put together submittals and shop drawings
Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams
Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure profitability
Submit accurate billings on time on all projects to the client
Create and submit sheet metal fabrication tickets to our metal shop for fabrication
Prepare and issue change orders to customers as requested or needed on projects
Assist in generating leads and nurturing client relationships
Prepare and present proposals to clients, explaining scope, pricing, and timelines
Support the sales team in closing deals and upselling additional services when appropriate
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, metal, etc.)
Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, and using estimating software
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
Project management software use is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
Basic sales skills with the ability to build rapport and identify client needs
Familiarity with project management tools, CRM systems, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred
Sage Estimating software is preferred
3+ years in commercial roofing estimation and/or project management preferred
CAD experience is a bonus
Knowledge of local building codes is a plus
