Senior Bird Bellows is a leader in custom-engineered metal bellows for various industries. They are seeking an Experienced Machinist to master the craft of precision machining, develop CNC programs, and ensure quality parts are produced from blueprints.

Responsibilities

Achieve and maintain required Operator Authorization(s) and be trusted to run high-precision work the right way
Develop, edit, and fine-tune CNC programs while setting up complex fixturing for CNC and manual machines to get parts from print to production
Set machine origins, work offsets, and tool lengths exactly to spec so every run starts on solid ground
Work from blueprints, material requests, method sheets, and written work instructions to deliver quality parts
Machine components to extremely close tolerances, achieving exact squareness, concentricity, parallelism, and finish
Partner on custom jobs and process improvements that push manufacturing forward
Select, set, and load tools; perform first-piece runoffs and validate setups
Measure and inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments
Support and train fellow machinists on setups, best practices, and job-specific tasks
Perform routine maintenance and jump in to troubleshoot CNC issues so production stays efficient and reliable
Use basic computer systems to record labor transactions and complete required production and quality documentation

Required

Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment
Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Solid understanding of materials, tooling, and machining best practices
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Strong math and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Safety-first mindset and reliable work habits
High school diploma or GED; vocational training or apprenticeship is an asset

Preferred

Experience with CAM programming (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion, Gibbs)
Fixture or tooling design experience
Background in aerospace, medical, or other tight-tolerance industries
