Responsibilities

Operate and set up conventional and CNC machine equipment, such as lathes, mills, and other precision machines
Support annual internal and external AS9100 audits
Read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
Tool and material selection with consideration for the unique requirements of aerospace components
Perform in-process inspection to verify quality and dimensional accuracy of machined parts
Adhere to and promote all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Perform basic routine maintenance on machine equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity
Interface with engineering and other disciplines to help generate solutions to unique manufacturing challenges
Maintain accurate records of machining processes, including setup, tooling, and inspection data

Required

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training and additional certifications preferred
5-7 years experience as a CNC machinist
Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
Experience running CNC lathes and mills
Proficiency operating manual lathes and mills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, engineering specifications, and written and verbal instructions
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, with expertise in reviewing designs for producibility and recommending production enhancements
Working knowledge of shop mathematics and trigonometry
Familiarity with inspection tools and processes
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require minimal walking, standing for extended amounts of time, climbing, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization
May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement

Preferred

3, 4 & 5 axis Milling & Mill-turn experience
Experience machining components from exotic materials, including high-nickel alloys, glass filled composites, and carbon fiber
Experience with NC programming (Mastercam preferred)
Aerospace or related industry experience
Experience turning large diameter parts
