Tissue Culture Lab Supervisor

The Tissue Culture Lab Supervisor is responsible for delegating, coordinating, guiding, and motivating Lab Technicians to achieve assigned deliverables and ensure all work is done in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Coordinating production schedules, inventory management and collaborating with various teams to meet production goals efficiently
Lead, mentor, & develop staff to build a skilled & motivated team
Oversee daily TC lab activities, follow SOPs, comply with regulations & successful distribution of products to global sites
Provide technical expertise and uphold rigorous quality control standards in processes and outputs
Ensure TC plants meet testing requirements including DNA QC and pathogen testing
Maintain lab equipment, implement and document routine maintenance & cost-effective use of resources
Create and maintain reports related to direct report’s performance, plant performance and health, and production schedule
Work closely with other departments to align goals; foster innovation & process improvements
Drive strategic planning, uphold Fall Creek’s values, safeguard proprietary varieties, ensure a respectful work environment

Required

Requires 2+ years of relevant lab work experience depending on educational qualities and technical expertise
Demonstrated supervisory and/or mentoring experience
Demonstrated knowledge of tissue culture techniques and good laboratory practices
Moderate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to be highly organized, have a high attention to detail and to observe small deviations
Strong collaborative and verbal skills, to present and exchange information
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work well with people from different countries and with varying English language skills
Must demonstrate professional and ethical business practices, adherence to company values, and a commitment to personal and professional development

Preferred

Bachelor's degree; or advanced training/courses in biological sciences; or high school diploma or GED; or 4+ years of related working experience, preferred
