This role provides strategic leadership and technical expertise for the firm's data center practice, ensuring successful planning and execution of complex facilities while driving innovation and sustainability.

Responsibilities

Defines and implements the vision, standards, and growth strategy for data center/mission critical projects

Provides design and technical leadership across all phases of data center and large-scale project delivery

Ensures resiliency, redundancy, security, and future-ready strategies are embedded in every project

Drives decision-making on sustainable design, energy efficiency, cooling systems, and advanced technology integration

Oversees design development, contract documents, and construction administration for mission critical facilities

Approves budgets, schedules, and staffing for data centers and other large-scale projects

Conducts rigorous QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with codes, client requirements, and best practices

Monitors project performance to ensure delivery meets the highest standards of technical excellence

Leads, mentors, and expands the mission critical team, setting expectations for technical proficiency and accountability

Develops specialized training and career pathways for mission critical staff

Promotes collaboration across architectural, civil, structural, MEP, IT, fire and systems integration disciplines

Establishes workflows that support efficiency and quality across large-scale complex projects

Acts as a primary liaison with mission critical clients, consultants, and contractors

Builds and grows the firm’s data center/mission critical portfolio through strong client engagement and relationship management

Represents the practice in presentations, negotiations, and industry thought leadership forums

Cultivates partnerships with technology providers and regulatory agencies to stay ahead of emerging standards

Stays current with trends in mission critical design, data center infrastructure, energy strategies, and resiliency planning

Implements lessons learned and evolving best practices into firm-wide standards

Champions process improvement, technical innovation, and sustainability initiatives

Required

15+ years of experience (10 years architectural, 5 years data center) with demonstrated expertise in data center infrastructure, energy strategies, and resiliency planning

Proven leadership in the design, delivery and management of mission critical environments

Deep knowledge of codes, building systems, and technologies specific to data centers and high availability facilities
