Responsibilities
Setup up and maintain automated and manual machines
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on machines
Log maintenance and repairs in a maintenance system
Replace, repair and make new components for production equipment
Pro-active team member working directly with experienced journeyman toolmakers, technicians and electrical engineers
Trade related course work required to total 288+ hours
Qualification
Required
Must enjoy working with your hands
Experience with saws, lathes, mills, and surface grinders is a plus
Experience with bench fittings and assembly of machinery or engines is a plus
Experience with PLCs and electrical troubleshooting is a plus
A high mechanical aptitude
Preferred score in the 67 percentiles on Bennett Mechanical test
Above average math skills
Must be a self-starter with strong leadership skills
Must be willing to work in a high-decibel noise environment
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs from floor to waist on a regular basis
A track record of adhering to all applicable safety standards, rules, and regulations
High School Diploma or GED is required
Preferred
Vocational or trade school diploma is a plus
Credit for past apprenticeship training & hours earned may be honored
