Responsibilities
Produces and distributes schedule templates for nurse managers/supervisors in advance of the beginning of the schedule; schedule to be completed by managers/supervisors and returned within required department schedule
Communicates with nurse managers to ensure that census and acuity data is properly incorporated
Implements staffing guidelines by matching patient census and acuity with staff skills and availability
Assures that decisions related to floating, calling in or canceling staff are within protocols established by program management
Maintains accurate documentation of staff attendance and floating history
Provides daily schedules of PRN staff available, which allows nursing coordinators broad overview of staffing and program acuity
Understands and utilizes staffing applications and works to expand skills, knowledge and abilities
Assures schedules are accurate and current
Daily reports staffing issues at the end of each shift to nursing leadership
Communicates immediately with appropriate managers if problems with staffing occur and works with nurse managers to resolve problems as appropriate
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
Five years experience in a hospital or clinical administrative environment
Preferred
Bachelors Degree in a related field
Preferred proficiency with staff scheduling software programs such as ScheduleAnywhere
