Responsibilities
Performs special procedure (Interventional) exams as well as diagnostic radiology procedures and assists with patient preparation before procedures and performs proper sterile techniques as indicated in support of the invasive procedure
Supports imaging procedural flow collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in timely and efficient manner
Supervises technologists daily duties ensuring a team approach with extraordinary quality patient interactions during the continuum of care
Manages inventory to ensure appropriate par level are maintain and communicated to the designee
Effectively communicates, maintains, and records quality measures for equipment maintenance
Mentors and precepts new team members through competency based performance as per AHS educational standards
Documents electronic health medical records
Performs high level of sterile technique and maintains infection prevention standards
Adheres to all policies and procedures of AHS
Performs other related duties as assigned.Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures
Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures, including assisting with sterile technique
Proactively assesses, identifies and responds to the needs of the patient for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors
Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations associated with certain procedures
Serves as liaison between team members, management and physicians, resolving routine matters for the shift and modality
Assists physicians during procedures
Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology and language
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an AMA approved Radiography Program
RT & ARRT Licensure
CPR Certification
3+ years of experience in IR and scrubbing procedures or in a related field
Preferred
4 years experience as a Special Procedures or Endovascular Technologist or in a related field
