Responsibilities
Data Architecture Design: Create and maintain scalable, efficient data architectures integrating multiple data sources while ensuring compliance with IT frameworks and regulatory policies
Pipeline Development: Build and optimize robust data pipelines for processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data
Data Quality Management: Define and enforce data quality standards; conduct audits and implement corrective actions
Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation
Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and implement enhancements for reliability and scalability
Security & Compliance: Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement encryption, access controls, and compliance measures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; advanced degrees preferred
Typically 7+ years in data engineering or related roles, with proven ability to lead projects and mentor teams
Strong programming skills (Python, Java, SQL)
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities
Preferred
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and advanced ETL/ELT processes
Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards
