Human Resources Manager
SparkHouse LLC is a growing construction technology company based in Golden, Colorado, seeking a Human Resources Manager. This role is responsible for managing recruiting and HR operations while supporting employees across various functions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining company culture as the business scales.
Responsibilities
Independently own and drive the recruiting function with emphasis on high quality recruits in a timely manner and within compensation guidelines
Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts, including job descriptions, interview guidance, and offer processes
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience and compliance
Oversee employee records, HRIS data integrity, and documentation
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including performance concerns, workplace conflicts, investigations, and corrective actions
Coach managers on performance management, documentation, feedback, and termination decisions
Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, wage & hour, leave laws, discrimination/harassment, multi-state requirements)
Maintain employee handbook and HR policies; recommend updates as laws and business needs change
Manage unemployment claims, workers’ compensation coordination, and employment verifications
Support independent contractor compliance where applicable
Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave programs) and act as liaison with brokers and vendors
Support compensation planning, job leveling, and pay practices aligned with internal equity and market data
Process payroll inputs and audits in coordination with finance or payroll providers
Support company culture initiatives aligned with a technology-driven, customer-focused, and construction-oriented environment
Advise leadership on employee engagement, retention risks, and organizational health
Assist with training initiatives, including compliance training and manager development
Provide practical HR guidance to leadership on people-related decisions
Use HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and improve HR processes
Participate in cross-functional initiatives as the company scales
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
5+ years of progressive technical recruiting and HR generalist experience, preferably in a SaaS, technology, or adjacent organization
Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including multi-state compliance
Experience operating as a standalone or individual-contributor Recruiting/ HR professional
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and sound judgment
Proficiency with HRIS systems and payroll/benefits administration
Experience supporting distributed or remote workforces
Experience in a fast growing dynamic company
