Responsibilities

Comply with all safety regulations and company policies
Support and participate in continuous improvement efforts to include Kaizen, 5S and other events, as required of this position. This includes activities to this specific position/department, as well as company-wide initiatives
Assist operators with daily press operations to manufacture finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards
Maintain raw stock supplies (paper and film) for presses and load parent rolls on machine as needed
Ensure proper supplies are stocked for daily run schedule such as cores and core plugs
Maintain trim room, recyclable paper, EBL, Velcro, film to designated compactor
Perform machine clean-ups as required and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Identify and react to production problems such as, shortage of raw materials, safety issues, inventory issues, out of spec raw materials, quality concerns, etc
Troubleshoot machine problems and determine which problems need to escalate to maintenance and/or plant supervisor
Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions as required, e.g. safety, quality, production, team, informational, etc

Qualification

Required

Ability to perform basic computer operations such as email, data entry, navigation skills within press operation and data systems, and operate a computer keyboard
Mathematical skills required to compute percentages, weights, and must be able to measure and calculate the supplies required to complete each job as scheduled
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, such as machine operation instructions, safety instructions, etc
Operate powered vehicles such as forklift and scissors lift, will need to be able to on and off the vehicle multiple times during the shift. Forklift and clamp truck certification
Manual dexterity and accurate eyesight, including color vision is required for workers
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and physical
High school diploma/GED required
Self-motivated, but also able to work as an effective team member
Able to work 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed
Physical Requirements: Perform heavy work, defined as ability to lift up to 70 lb maximum with help, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs
Work around fast-moving machinery
Walk/stand, bending, stooping, working with hands majority of the time
Exposure to noise levels and will be required to wear various PPE items based on the task being performed, including, but not limited to, hearing protection, eye protection, hat or hair net, hi-vis vest, safety shoes, cut gloves, etc
