Responsibilities

Leveraging Carta’s proprietary tax engine to file tax returns for our Venture Capital clients
Collaborating with our wider Carta accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on relevant tax issues that relate to Carta’s products and services
Helping grow the venture capital ecosystem by supporting the companies of tomorrow through our next-gen investment stack
Productizing workflows to deliver the fastest tax solutions with perfect accuracy
Building a tax engine that simplifies tax filings
Automating investment structures in venture capital and scaling post-deal processes

Qualification

US international tax filingsPartnership compliance cyclePartner-level international reportingTransaction reportingForeign financial asset reportingCritical thinkingProblem solvingDecision makingEffective communicationAttention to detail

Required

Extensive, hands-on experience with the complete partnership compliance cycle
Specific expertise in partner-level international reporting (Schedules K-2/K-3)
Reporting on controlled foreign entities (Forms 5471, 8865, 8858)
Transaction reporting and passive investments (Forms 926 and 8621)
Foreign withholding and reporting regimes (Forms 1042/1042-S, 8804/8805)
Foreign financial asset reporting (Form 8938 and FBAR)
Foreign Ownership reporting (Form 5472)
Understanding of US international tax filings relating to investment vehicles
High attention to detail: written and quantitative
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to multitask to meet multiple deadlines
