Express Employment Professionals is seeking a knowledgeable Roof Truss Designer to join their growing team in Patterson, CA. The role involves designing and engineering roof truss systems, performing plan checks, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

Design and engineer roof truss systems for residential, multi-family, and commercial buildings in compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards

Perform plan checking and quality control reviews of truss layouts, profiles, and calculations to verify accuracy, constructability, and coordination with architectural and structural plans

Collaborate with internal design staff and project managers to develop efficient, safe, and cost-effective truss solutions

Use Alpine Software (ITW) for truss modeling, analysis, and documentation; MiTek experience is beneficial

Review and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings to identify discrepancies and resolve design conflicts

Communicate with engineers, contractors, and clients to clarify design intent and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle

Required

Minimum 5 years of experience in roof truss design

Proven experience performing plan checks, design reviews, and quality control for truss packages

Proficiency in Alpine (ITW) preferred

Strong knowledge of building codes, structural principles, and residential construction practices

Experience with single-family and multi-family projects; commercial experience is a plus

Ability to produce accurate truss designs, layouts, and technical documentation

Truss or Wood Product Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)

Supervising: 3 years (Required)

Ability to Commute: Patterson, CA 95363 (Required)

Preferred

MiTek experience considered an advantage

Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required
