The Financial Counselor will ensure patients are fully informed about their financial obligations and serve as a liaison between patients and insurance providers, helping to navigate coverage details and payment processes.

Responsibilities
Verify insurance benefits and communicate coverage details to patients
Collect deductibles and copayments at the time of service
Process credit card payments and maintain accurate transaction records
Conduct account research and respond to patient inquiries
Establish financial arrangements according to hospital policy
Maintain professional communication with patients, physicians, and internal staff
Deliver exceptional customer service and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word with proficiency
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of one year of experience in collections
Must be at least 21 years old
Must qualify for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical
Must be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card
Preferred
Experience in behavioral health settings
Familiarity with HEA and AZ AHCCCS systems
