Responsibilities
Provide project and technical leadership to ensure compliance with functional safety standards and processes for EV and AD systems
Lead and participate in system safety analyses, including HARA, FSC, TSC, FSR/TSR, DFMEA, SFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, STPA, DFA, and reliability analyses
Review, validate, and approve supplier functional safety deliverables, including ASIL targets, decomposition strategies, and safety concepts
Generate, compile, and maintain functional safety documentation and confirmation measures as per ISO 26262 and ISO 19014 requirements
Perform audits, confirmation reviews, and technical assessments of system modules; identify gaps and recommend implementation and validation solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive safety analysis and ensure alignment with applicable standards and organizational processes
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, strengthening system understanding, safety processes, and safety culture
Interface with Quality Management Systems (QMS), cybersecurity, and operational safety teams to ensure holistic safety compliance
Engage with external manufacturers and suppliers to ensure functional safety compliance across the supply chain
Participate in and support functional safety assessments, including interactions with internal and external safety assessors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with ISO 26262 and ISO 19014 standards
Demonstrated experience in certification or assessment of automotive software systems (experience with autonomous systems preferred)
Strong practical experience with functional safety analyses such as HARA, FSC, TSC, FSR/TSR, DFMEA, SFMEA, FMEDA, FTA, STPA, reliability estimation, and root cause analysis
Proven experience conducting ISO audits, technical assessments of safety deliverables, and tools and component qualification
In-depth knowledge of system safety projects and/or safety-critical software development from concept through validation
Experience defining and documenting safety lifecycle processes, including safety plans, safety requirements, specifications, and assessments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams
Preferred
Knowledge of ISO 21448 (SOTIF)
Experience in EV and/or Autonomous Driving (AD) system development environments
